The North Central girls basketball team extended their season-best winning streak to nine games Wednesday night. The Ladybirds improved to 16-4 on the season with a lopsided 61-28 win at Riverton Parke.
Just two nights after pouring in a career-high 28 points, Shelby Seay tallied 22 points in Wednesday night’s rout. The sophomore knocked down a trio of shots from behind the arc in part of her 13 first-quarter points.
North Central outscored the Panthers, 22-4 in the opening eight minutes of play and never looked back.
Jalyn Davidson netted a game-high 25 points in the win. The sophomore also pulled down four rebounds, dished out four assists and came away with five steals.
Seay led the team with 12 boards to go along with five assists and three steals.
“Jalyn and Shelby were both really good for us,” North Central coach Joey Davidson stated. “And overall as a team, I thought we played very well defensively … we are getting closer to where we need to be for sectionals.”
Katie Jones and Samantha Secrest both added five points, while Lilli Gaines rounded out the scoring with three points.
Maggie Scott blocked a pair of shots in the win.
North Central (16-4) wraps up its four-game road trip at North Vermillion on Saturday.
