Vincennes Lincoln shot 62 percent as the Alices pulled away for a 64-46 victory at Sullivan on Thursday night in a high school boys basketball game.
Lincoln, who improved to 7-8, made 23 of 37 shots as they outscored the Golden Arrows 35-19 in the second half.
“We gave up straight line penetration to the basket,” said Sullivan coach Jeff Moore. “We did a decent job defensively in the first half, but they did whatever they wanted to do in the second half.”
Sullivan led 8-7 in the first quarter after a pair of free throws by Kevin Figg. A basket by Figg gave Sullivan 10-9 lead — their last —  later in the quarter. The Alices led 16-13 despite a 3-pointer at the buzzer by SHS senior Ben Pirtle.
The Golden Arrows trailed 29-27 at the half, but misfired on 6 of 7 shots to begin the third.
Lincoln connected on 6 of 11 shots in the third stanza and were 5 of 5 in the fourth quarter as they gradually pulled away, leading 48-35 after three quarters.
For the game, Sullivan misfired on 23 of 35 shots, 36 percent.
Sullivan had one its better games shooting free throws, making 16 of 19.
Randy Kelley paced Sullivan with 18 points, two assists and two steals.
Figg had 12 points and five rebounds.
Ethan Bushey was 9 of 11 shooting, finishing with 22 points for the Alices. Isaac Lane had 18 points. Eight different Lincoln players scored.
Sullivan won the JV game 50-37.
The Golden Arrows (9-5) will play at White River Valley on Saturday, starting with the junior varsity at 6 p.m.
“We just have to work harder,” said Moore.
