Walter “Dewayne” Whiteman

Walter “Dewayne” Whiteman, 75, Sullivan, passed away on Sunday, Oct.

10, 2021, at his residence. He was born on Sept. 29, 1946 in

Birmingham, Alabama, the son of Walter and Wanda Turney Whiteman.

Dewayne was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was the service and parts

director at Oldsmobile for several years before he retired. Dewayne

was a member of the Shelburn American Legion Post 197 and the Sullivan

VFW Post 2459.

Dewayne is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his loving wife of 29 years, Jeanie Burger Whiteman;

two sons, Christopher (Judy) Whiteman and Bradley (Sandy) Whiteman;

two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at the Shelburn American Legion on Oct. 23, 2021 from 2 until 4 p.m. Arrangements were

entrusted to Brust Funeral Home.
