Robert 'Bob' Blackburn

Robert “Bob” Blackburn, 77, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021, at Union Hospital. He was born in Petersburg, on Nov. 24, 1943, to Lewis Blackburn and Edith Allene (Campbell) Blackburn. 

Bob had worked for the Sullivan County Highway Department for 34 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, western shows and he loved his animals. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Vickie Jo (Loveless) Blackburn, whom he married on Jan. 13, 1973; son, Monty Loveless (Tomella); daughters, Amy Emmons, Shelly Huffington (James) and Kelly Hauser (Michael); a brother, Dan Blackburn; a sister, Hazel Beasley; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family and several close friends.

Services to celebrate his life will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 15, 2021, at Holmes Memorial Chapel, with Terry Dowell officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be at a later date.
