Shelburn Town Council adds two to its police reserves

The Shelburn Town Council added two new members to its police reserves

during its monthly meeting early this month.

Town council members attending were Brad Cagle, Shad Akers and Jesse

Kasinger. Dereck McClure was absent. Also attending was

clerk-treasurer Jay Southwood.

The meeting started with the council approving the minutes of its

previous meting and the  May 2021 financial report was presented.

Council member Kasinger made a motion to appoint Lawrence Dull as a

police reserve for the Shelburn Police Department.

Soon after, council member Akers made a motion to appoint Elise

McDaniel as a police reserve.

Both were approved in unanimous votes.

In other business, Cagle presented dumpster quotes from the following

companies:  Wallace Brothers $390 each for a 20-yard dumpster, L & L

Disposal $425 each for a 20-yard dumpster and L & L Disposal would

help monitor the trash being placed into the dumpster, Carr-Thomas

$300 each for a 20-yard dumpster.

Council member Kasinger made a motion to accept the quote from L & L

Disposal of $425 each for a 20-yard dumpster if L & L Disposal will

help monitor the trash being placed into the dumpster.  The council

approved the motion in a 3-0 vote.

Council president Cagle made a motion to accept the Local Roads and

Bridges Matching Grant Agreement between the Indiana Department of

Transportation and the Town of Shelburn. This was also approved 3-0.

Kasinger made a motion to adopt the final draft of the Employee

Handbook as prepared by New Focus HR, which was approved 3-0.

The meeting started at 7 p.m. and concluded at 8:12. The next Shelburn

Town Council meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. July 13.
