Proposed relocation of the Dugger Post Office

The U.S. Postal Service is mailing a postcard to Dugger addresses,

announcing a proposed relocation of the Dugger Post Office, previously

located at 8182 Main Street, Dugger, 47848-9998.

The postcard, sent by USPS Real Estate Specialist Greg Shelton,

provides information about the public comment period.

Due to structural damage, the Postal Service is now looking for a new

retail location within the 47848 zip code. The desired size of the new

facility is approximately 990 gross square feet with 11-plus dedicated

parking spaces. The Postal Service will also consider leasing land

that is approximately 14,500 square feet to place a modular building.

The relocation project will consist of procuring a suitable substitute

location, as close as reasonably possible to the existing location.

Retail Services will continue temporarily at the Sullivan Post Office

located at 103 E. Washington St. until all necessary preparations are

completed at the new location.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, instead of a public meeting, we are

inviting comments on the proposal and request they be sent to the

following address within the next 30 days: United States Postal

Service, ATTN: Dugger, IN Relocation, PO BOX 27497, Greensboro, NC

27498-1103.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating

expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to

fund its operations.
