Halloween is coming to Sullivan
Plans for just a few of the Halloween activities have been set in Sullivan.

The Sullivan City Council officially set trick or treating dates for the city as Oct. 30 and 31 at their monthly meeting on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, a favorite of children locally is on again for this year. The 77th Halloween Parade has been set for Oct. 31.

The parade kicks off at 7:30 p.m. from Sullivan City Hall, then goes around the courthouse square to the Mark Reed Youth Center building on the northside of the square.

Kids' costumes will be judged and prizes awarded along with candy and pop handed out.

The weekend before Halloween will feature the Sullivan FFA Fright Night on Oct. 23.

The annual event will be from 5 to 8 p.m. — haunted trail will go a bit later — at the Ag Center west of Sullivan Middle School.

The FFA group is expecting approximately 1,000 people to attend this year.
