Miller's Merry Manor receives perfect survey from state board of health
Miller’s Merry Manor nursing home staff celebrated a perfect survey from the Indiana State Department of Health on Tuesday.
“The number of perfect scores is scaling down,” President/ CEO of Miller’s Health Systems Inc. Patrick Boyle said. “For you to have a perfect score is phenomenal.”
The staff was treated to a special lunch for the hard work needed to receive a perfect score. The facility, located at 505 W. Wolfe St., near Sullivan, also received a Five-Star rating as well.
“We have always been a Five-Star facility,” Debra Hale, the administrator for Miller’s, said. “We have had a perfect score in the past … it takes a fantastic team to get it again.”
The survey is completed based on a surprise visit to the facility and this happens once a year.
“They are here for five days to look over the facility,” Hale said.
Along with being recognized by the ISHD, the facility and Hale received plaques from State Senator Eric Bassler.
The plaques were in congratulations of the work the staff completed to receive a high score across the board.
For Miller’s, it stated, “May your example of achievement, leadership and service be a role model to others.” For Hale, it was for her “leadership to Miller’s Merry Manor-Sullivan who was awarded the Five-Star rating and Deficiency Free Survey. Job well done!”
As for getting another perfect score, Hale said it is due to the level of care the staff provides their residents.
“We take pride in it,” Hale said.
