American Jobs Plan Tour makes stop in Sullivan

The American Jobs Plan tour stop is coming to the Sullivan Civic Center on

Wednesday.

Doors will open 6 p.m. and light refreshments will be served until 7, when

the public will hear from Sullivan Mayor Clint Lamb and former U.S. Senator

Joe Donnelly.

This is the first of two events in the state's 8th Congressional District

and will be followed by an event in Evansville on July 24. It is sponsored

by the Democrat National Committee.

Donnelly will be talking about the importance of the American Jobs Plan.

A DNC advertisement for this event states what the DNC says about the

American Jobs Plan:

"President (Joe) Biden believes this is the moment to reimagine and rebuild

a new American economy. The American Jobs Plan will create millions of

good-paying jobs, rebuild our country’s infrastructure, and position the

United States to out-compete China.

"This is a once-in-a-century capital investment in America to not only meet

our current infrastructure needs — like modernizing roads and bridges and

making sure every American has access to broadband and clean water — but

also investing in research and development, so that we can make 21st

century products in the U.S. and sell them around the world. This is an

investment in America.
