Dugger Union dominates on senior night
Dugger Union celebrated senior night with a 18-1 victory over visiting Eastern Greene on Tuesday. The softball game was halted after five innings via the 10-run rule.
Senior Mollie Pittman had two doubles and two RBIs for the winners. Kyndra Lantrip, a senior, collected three hits, including a double and drove in one run. Senior Madison Reynolds contributed three runs, two hits and one RBI.
Senior right-hander Madison Marlow tossed a one-hitter as she earned the complete-game victory inside the circle. She finished with nine strikeouts.
“Madison pitched a great game,” said Dugger Union coach Amanda Parr. “She also had one hit, one RBI and scored two runs.”
Also for the winners, Shoni Dinkins was 1-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs. Mia Marlow collected one hit, three runs and one RBI.
Hannah Smith was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Stormy Kinnard had two doubles, scored three runs and knocked in one run.
“I was very proud of the girls performance at their last home game of the year,” said Parr. “Our record is now at 4-6. Our last game on the year will be Thursday (today) at Eminence.”
