Sullivan scored 21 points in the first quarter and cruised to a 41-13 victory over West Vigo on senior night for the Golden Arrows in a Western Indiana Conference football game at Sportland Field on Friday night.
Sullivan concluded play in the West Division of the WIC with a perfect 5-0 record for the second consecutive season.
“It was great to see our seniors go out with a win,” said Sullivan coach Blaine Powell. “Just like last year, this was a very big senior class.
“I believe they are the winningest class in school history. They won 10 as juniors and eight as sophomores and now we’re are 7-1.”
It was the sixth consecutive victory for the Golden Arrows. The outcome was never in doubt as Sullivan scored 28 unanswered points to start the game.
“It was important for us to get off to a quick start,” said Powell. “The kids have really been focused and were ready to play.
“They just came out and took care of business.”
Sullivan had drives of 75, 29, 50 and 67 in the first half as they rolled up 350 yards of total offense.
Wes Bedwell scored on a 2-yard run, quarterback Jack Conner had a 13-yard scoring run and Jackson Shake (16), Kyle Vernelson (39) and Chris Taylor (20) all caught TD passes from Conner as Sullivan led 34-7 at intermission.
Jacob Voliva kicked 4 of 5 extra points in the half and was 6-for-7 for the game.
“We have a lot of weapons on offense,” said Powell. “We had five different players score in the first half and Dakota (Caton) was not one of them.
“Jack continues to have a great season at quarterback and findind open receivers or making plays for himself.”
Shake, who finished with four receptions for 71 yards, caught his second TD of the game, a 10-yard pass from Conner in the third quarter.
Caton hauled in seven passes for 89 yards as  completed 14 of 19 passes for 244 yards.
But Conner, who rushed seven times for 54 yards, threw two interceptions, his fourth and fifth of the season.
The Arrows were whistled for eight penalties for 65 yards.
“Those things are going to happen,” Powell said of the turnovers and penalties. “Those are things that we are going to have to clean up.”
The Sullivan varsity defense limited the Vikings to no touchdowns from scrimmage.
Logan Stevens picked off a Conner pass and returned it 75 yards for a touchdown in the final four minutes of the half.
Gabe McCallister had a 10-yard TD scamper against the SHS JV defense in the final four minutes.
“Our defense made it tough on them to move the ball tonight,” said Powell. “We are capable of playing very well on that side of the ball.”
The Golden Arrows will try to repeat as WIC champions when they travel to Indian Creek on Friday. Game time is set for 7  p.m. It is a rematch of last year’s title game as Sullivan defeated the Braves at home.
